Collecting points on Sorare

Before you buy your first collectible cards on Sorare, you should understand how points are calculated. These points are important for game weeks. Essentially, every time a player with a Sorare card is on the field in a match covered by Sorare, they earn points based on their performance.

The final score is a value between 0 and 100. The exact value is based on data which Sorare receives from specialized providers. Generally, the score consists of two parts: the Decisive Score and the General Score.

Decisive Score

Each player in the starting lineup begins with 35 points. The same is true for players who are brought on later as a substitute. The score then increases or decreases based on the actions of the respective player – if those actions have a significant impact on the game.

Positive actions include goals, assists, or a goal-line clearance.

Negative actions include own goals, causing a penalty, or an error leading directly to a goal.

A positive action boosts a player's score to at least 60 points, with each additional positive action increasing the score by another ten points. A negative action, however, drops the score to 15 points or the previous level.

/Example: A player scores two goals and then receives a red card. In this case, the decisive score increases to 60 points after the first goal, 70 points after the second goal, and then drops to 60 points due to the red card.

General Score

The overall rating is determined by additional statistics such as fouls, blocked shots, completed passes, and more. Players earn positive and negative points from these actions, which are summed up at the end.

The combination of both ratings results in the total score a player earns in a game. It is not possible to score less than 0 or more than 100 points.

Bonuses for points calculation

Sorare offers various ways to increase the score through bonuses, which are crucial for tournament rankings. These rankings are based on the total points, meaning score plus bonuses for all five players.

  • Season Bonus: Collectible cards from the current season receive a 5% bonus in certain competitions.

  • Experience: Each game week when a player is in the lineup, they earn experience points (XP). Each level provides an additional bonus, up to a certain cap. However, be cautious: with every transfer, the XP value is halved.

  • Captain: In each lineup of five players, you can designate one captain. This player receives an additional bonus on their points. You should therefore choose the player likely to achieve the highest score.

You can find the exact formulas for calculating experience points and other detailed information in the FAQ section on the Sorare website. Comprehensive overviews of individual players and current prices on the transfer market are also available on SorareData.

Example: Your player earns exactly 50 points based on their performance. With a card from the current season, you get a 5% bonus. Additionally, you have already accumulated experience, providing another 2% bonus. This gives you a total bonus of 7%, or 53.5 points.

In the results for individual game weeks, you will see that even a few extra points can significantly boost your ranking. Therefore, selecting the right players and especially the captain is important for winning prizes.
