Competitions and divisions on Sorare

Before you buy your first players on Sorare, you should be familiar with the competitions in which you can later enter your teams. After all, you should only spend money for your first cards once you have devised a good strategy.

It’s important to note that there is no perfect way to build your gallery of cards. Rather, it depends on your budget and interests whether you want to compete with players from various leagues worldwide or only in certain competitions.

In general, game weeks run from Tuesday to Friday and from Friday to Tuesday. The lineups are the same across all leagues. You must always cover the following five positions:

  • Goalkeeper

  • Defender

  • Midfielder

  • Forward

  • Extra (Defender, Midfielder, or Forward)

Get to the top of the standings

Sorare features three different competitions, each containing multiple divisions. These three competitions are: Champions, Challengers, and Contenders.

Each competition includes specific leagues. For example, in the “Champions” competition, these are the top five leagues in Europe (Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Serie A and La Liga).

If you have enough collectible cards of players from these leagues, you can set up your first lineup and participate in your first game week – and hopefully win a prize.

If you prefer to play in the “Challengers” competition, you will need players from other leagues. This includes, for example, the Eredivisie in the Netherlands or Major League Soccer in North America.

Within the competitions, you can enter up to three teams per game week. These teams can move up or down every game week, just like teams get promoted and relegated in real life. While there are prizes in every division, the most attractive wins are available in the top division.

Additional competitions

In addition to the three main competitions, there are several other ones. These include, for example, U23 tournaments for young players as well as weekly specials. Here, too, there are often very attractive prizes available for Sorare managers who collect as many points as possible with their players.

Obviously, a large gallery of player cards allows you to compete every week in a variety of competitions and divisions. However, most Sorare managers start with a small budget. Therefore, you should focus on specific areas to have a better chance of winning something and to improve your gallery over time.
