Jupiler Pro League: Belgium's top league

Our presentation of the Jupiler Pro League has been provided by Siebe, so we'll let him introduce himself:

Why it’s worth watching: The Belgian league is ranked 8th if you look at the European coefficient. But I truly believe they’re very very close to, if not a better league then the Eredivisie and the Liga Portugal, the other two just have better top teams, but all this is my opinion.

Our league is known for creating talents and selling a lot of players every single year. That’s makes it a mess but also fun time during the transfer periodes. It’s a very physical league, but with a lot of top teams, it’s very exciting to watch and follow every year!

Three things you should know:

• Belgium is divided in three ‘major’ parts. Wallonia is one of them and is in size almost 50% of Belgium, but only two clubs from there play in the JPL (Standard and Charleroi).

• The Jupiler Pro League is one of the only top 15 leagues where all teams play play-offs. After the regular season, the league gets split in 3 groups. 1-6 play ten games for the league title, 13-16 play for relegation and 7-12 play for the last European ticket.

• The Jupiler Pro League is know for creating and developing talents! Names everyone knows are: De Bruyne, Courtois, Koulibaly, Lukaku, Kompany. Also a lot of young talent got sold this summer: Nusa, El Khannouss, Fernandez-Pardo, Keita and the list goes on!

By the numbers: Out of the 16 teams, Club Brugge has the highest market value at €137.25 million. Newly promoted Dender has the lowest market value at €13.35 million. (Source: www.transfermarkt.com)

💯 Our player of the week

Troy Parrott (AZ): 100 points against SC Heerenveen

You don't win 9-1 every day, but that's what AZ managed in their Eredivisie game against Heerenveen. The guests actually scored after AZ got an early lead, but then it was Troy Parrott's day. He put AZ back in front after 23 minutes and scored three more goals to start the second half. By the way: Heerenveen even had more possession and a better pass accuracy – but that wasn't reflected on the scoresheet.

💰 Gallery building on a budget

The SorareJourney project

Do you want to start playing Sorare with a (very) small budget? It can be a lot of fun to put in some work and to scout for players who are hidden gems. SorareJourney's project shows that it's possible to build a gallery from the ground up. Every transfer is published and discussed on X, and they're all included in a table which is steadily growing.

🗓️ Competition schedule

• Game week 14 (1-4 October): Three special events in one game week – one for the Champions League, one for the other European competitions and a Global All Star competition on top!

• Game week 15 (4-8 October): Three more specials, including a long-awaited return of the Legends game, an anti-stacks special and one for the Austrian Bundesliga.

• Game week 17 (11-15 October): The international break calls for an international competition – and there's also an All Star competition available.
